Passing of Beth E. Gaschen

It is with deep sadness that we write to share that our dear friend and colleague, Beth E. Gaschen, passed away on August 13, 2025. 

Beth was an integral part of the Southern California legal community.  She served the public legal community for several years as a judicial law clerk of the United States Bankruptcy Court to the Honorable Erithe A. Smith (Central District of California) and, most recently, to the Honorable J. Barrett Marum (Southern District of California). She also served the private legal community as a partner at Weiland Golden Smiley Wang Ekvall & Strok LLP (now Golden Goodrich LLP) for over 15 years. 

During her illustrious career, Beth was selected as a member of the Next Generation Program of the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine, and was a former director and president of the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum.

Beth was an amazing and loyal daughter, sister, aunt, fiancée, mentor, friend, and lawyer. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be remembered for her infectious enthusiasm for life and the law.
